The oKay Blog: We Need You!
Updated: 6 days ago
Where on earth has this new web page appeared from?!
New for 2026-27, oKay is launching an opportunity that aims to encourage those interested in writing blog posts and articles to submit their work to us! We hope this will give our community a voice and allow you to express your ideas with others.
We are looking for article submissions on kpop-related topics that, once approved by our committee, will be posted on the blog section of our website and linked within our newsletter. For example, you could write kpop concert or comeback reviews, opinion pieces, or articles about kpop events in the local area. To give you some inspiration, we’ve compiled a list of examples below to highlight the type of content we’re looking for:
In order to be eligible, each piece must be between 500-1,500 words long and must focus on kpop or kpop-adjacent topics; this means we will happily accept an article about an XG concert or a review of a Santos Bravos comeback. Additionally, we want to make it clear that anyone can submit their work - you don’t have to be an oKay member or a student at the University of Oxford.
Furthermore, there are two other conditions that writing must comply with. Firstly, oKay Kpop does not tolerate writing that expresses or promotes hate towards individuals for their gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, or other protected characteristic. We strive to build a community that treats others with respect and will not publish works that do not align with these values. Secondly, we will not publish works that are written, planned, or proofread using artificial intelligence (AI). This condition relates to the recent changes we made to our constitution in Trinity Term 2026 because the committee have decided not to promote the use of AI moving forward. Additionally, we also ask that you do not include any images generated by AI in your article.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, submit your work to us via this form!
Now that we’ve gone over the basics, it’s over to you. We can’t wait to read your article submissions and see what our community comes up with!
