About Us
oKay Kpop
oKay Kpop is Oxford University's Kpop society! We aim to bring together fans of Kpop in Oxford through dance, social events, and more. Our goal is to create and maintain a welcoming community that everyone can join, allowing our members to spend time with like-minded people and share a common appreciation of Kpop.
What do we do?
Throughout the term, we hold weekly socials that are open to all of our members and often completely free! Our most popular events include our annual Korean Culture Night, craft socials, movie nights, and presentation nights. We also regularly hold events in collaboration with other Oxford student societies.
Find out more about our oKay socials here.
We also hold weekly open dance classes where a member of our dance team will teach a recently-released Kpop choreo. We aim to make all of these classes beginner-friendly so that anyone interested in Kpop dance can come along and join in.
In addition to these classes, oKay Kpop has its very own Kpop dance team. Members join the dance team through an audition process that takes place in Michaelmas each year. We encourage people to join even if they have no previous dance experience - passion and an interest in Kpop dance is what we are most interested in! Our dance team train together regularly and film numerous dance covers throughout the year. They also perform at various events, which includes national competitions and our annual dance showcase.

New for 2025-26
Summer Classes, Vocal Covers, and Throwback Classes
Summer Classes
We began holding summer dance classes this year! This means that anyone who is in Oxford during the Summer vacation is welcome to come along and learn a new choreo.
Vocal Kpop Covers
After suggestions from our members last year, we have decided to launch a new vocal kpop covers team! Our members have begun preparations to start releasing covers on our socials - so watch this space...
Throwback Dance Classes
We also received feedback from members who wanted to learn older kpop choreographies, as our open dance classes usually teach more recent comebacks. Therefore, we decided to launch a series of throwback classes for Michaelmas 2025.
The History of oKay
As a society, we have been active since 2018, initially as a group of friends who wanted to start a kpop dance covers team in Oxford.
Ever since we have been running our annual ShowKayse, holding week socials and teaching dances from the latest hits in the idol industry!
We've also attended numerous competitions with our dance team, from Go Hard or Go Home, to Steal the Stage!
